Barnaby’s Restaurant at 713 E. Jefferson Blvd. proudly celebrated its 55th Anniversary in 2024. The success of Barnaby’s began in 1969 with George and Ruby Stratigos. Their vision, alongside the leadership of General Manager John Spagnola (who has served for over 52 years) and many dedicated, long-term team members, has made Barnaby’s Pizza a cherished local favorite for generations.
Proprietor John Stratigos comes from a long and colorful family restaurant tradition. His grandfather, Spiridon Stratigos, owned and operated the Stratigon Grille downtown on Michigan St. from 1914 to 1943, and built his family home on the very site where Barnaby’s stands today on Jefferson Blvd.
Today, John and his daughter Johanna Stratigos look forward to keeping the tradition alive, continuing to bring quality food and friendly service to the next generation of families.
